Grace Reprise
By Cristian Martinez
How does this grace thing work?
I thought ill of burning bridges,
But somethings are best admired at a distance,
I felt scared of precarious ridges,
Yet torrent winds will make any awe height insistent.
Stuck in that harsh term darkness,
One can never see,
The water that fills the temple bless,
And flows forth life to brook and levy.
How does this grace thing work?
I say to you, destroy this temple,
And you can raise it up again,
Take care of it and Grace will take care of you,
Like water it will reside, fill, and spring up again,
And all about you to life, to life imbue.
