Autumn Warmth

Autumn Warmth

By Avery Letendre

A scarlet-orange dusting litters the craggy concrete,
the crinkling green grass, the pebble-paved pathways,
and the criss-cross brick walk;
they crunch beneath the soles of my sneakers,
a soft snapping, a soothing crackle,
and the sweet blue sky smiles
with a wild and gentle warmth,
and your hand slips easily into mine,
fingers laced tight like the answer I’ve been looking for.
